DonutBite.com First Gathering

This is supposed a 3 weeks ago gathering, but I only "have time" to blog it now, kaka...
DonutBite.com is fun chinese forum mainly joined by youngster. Sometimes I do think this forum is a little too young, as if I am so old to blend in, haha... Anyway, this forum was established by my buddies Alysha & Jikey.

They decide to have the gathering at Star Bucks because of their wifi service, so that we are able to video call with members at Kuching (Alysha was the organizer there, and Jikey was organizer here). I just came to have fun and to show support for my friends, kaka... KL Gathering was held at Star Bucks The Gardens, MId Valley.

Unfortunately we were unable to video call each other as Kuching side is having internet connection at the Star Bucks, Kuching Airport. What a waste!!

Well, gathering is always the same, came in, settle down, get to know each other, chatting drink, bla bla bla... And Jikey did prepared us some candies (sweeeet), but I've ate it (is already 3 weeks eh~~~).

Cycheah & Jikey, they were busy talking about video editing whole night... Cycheah looks very pro kind of guy, haha... And Jikey sounds like our counselor, teaching us about online shopping.

Our gathering ended on 10pm as Star Bucks need to close shop already. Pinball86 suggest we go for karaoke, so we headed to Neway at 1-U for singing session, just 4 of us...

Singapore 2006

Singapore - Lion - Orchard Road


Few weeks after I came back from Langkawi, I moved on to my 2nd vacation of year 2006, kakaka... Like very rich hor, haha... Actually my friend got a chance to go for a conference at Singapore, so with first 2 nights of free hotel stay, why not... hahaha...

Actually the first 2 days we didn't go anywhere cause my friend was in the conference, and I just end up staying at Hotel... We took the 12am bus from Pudu, 4am arrived Singapore... Gosh, never expect arrived so early... So we headed to out hotel - Hotel Asia at Scott Road... But we were unable to check in as it was only 5am in the morning!! Duhhh.... So waited at the hotel lobby until 10am, faint... I was totally exhausted...

Sentosa Aquarium


My hair wet cause raining cats and dogs!! After that, we went to Aquarium... I first time saw live sea turtle, haha... Sorry pic pretty blur, can't see the turtle...

White dugong, they are such a beautiful animal... They were once mistaken as mermaid, but when people really have a close look on them, people thought they are ugly... Well, I don't think so...


Aquarium staff scuba dive and said hi to us, haha, sweet!

But they do look like sea weed to help them camouflage...


Hey, it's Nemo... I mean crown fish, keke... Heard the number of crown fish is getting lesser as people tend to catch to sell for humans' pet... Sigh...

Pink Dolphin & Palawan Beach


"Where Dolphins and People Meet."

Never think of have Pink Dolphin exist in this world, cute... Dolphin is already a cute animal, imagine if they are in Pink, sweeeeeet!









But they are not totally in pink, just partial of the body... But they still look cute... Sometimes can't understand why people can hurt such a beautiful animal?

After dolphin, we went to Palawan beach...









There were few peacocks wonder freely on nearby the beach...




Some of them are camera-shy...



Some of them tend to come near to you, looking for free snack I guess...

We went to Musical Fountain at night... The scenery was pretty, but pic doesn't seem that right...




After 1 full day spent at Sentosa... Pheeeew, exhausted!


Tanjong Pagar

We checked out from Hotel Asia on the 2nd day, and moved to Duxton Hotel at Tanjong Pagar... Tanjong Pagar has a great vintage feel... Like it...

A miao had came to my house...

I've got a "guest" came to my house this afternoon...
I didn't know he was there until my sister told me...

So I think I better back off, he sure doesn't
trust people so well...
Later he went to the backyard....

Jonathan Brandis (1976 - 2003)

I was so shocked when my sister told me Jonanthan Brandis had died of suicide since 2003 few days ago...
It's hard to believe it, I have a major crush on him when I was teenager... T_T

I always wonder why I never saw his movie or drama on TV anymore...
I thought maybe he has decided to leave the entertainment world, maybe start a firm, do some business, be a normal guy...
But he had ended up this way...

I knew about Jonathan Brandis from a chinese teen magazine called 少年 last time... I started to liked him after his movie called "Sidekick", pretty funny movie... I thought he looks cute in that movie... Later he was starring in a drama called "SeaQuest DSV", I guess people who is kinda around same age with me would know this drama, it was a popular drama in TV2 last time... He was so awesome... The first movie of his I've watched is "It" - about a ghost clown tend to haunt children, it was a pretty scary movie... But since he had gone, all these films, drama had become memories...

Hello, Angkor-Wat (Dec 2007) Part II

30th Dec 2007

We woke up pretty early, to catch the sunrise at Angkor-Wat...



I've encountered a spooky experience during the sunrise session... My camera captured doesn't seem so right... First time I captured, I saw a stroke of white smoke, like the smoke came out from jock stick (chinese praying used one)... I didn't think much, I just thought is other people flash lights... So I captured again, and..... the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th pic also got white smoke, and white smoke doesn't at the same place which I captured on the 1st pic... It was like flew here and there... Eeeeeeee... Then I peep on my friend's camera, wait... there was nothing like white smoke on her pictures le... Why huh.... Then I think maybe is something else... That thing lo, still want me to explain more meh, scare la... That time I didn't felt scare at all, I was still feeling cheeky and I wanna keep these pics and to show other people... But after I came back, suddenly so many things happen, I was thinking is it I did something wrong... Worried, so I decide to delete all these pics... You can think I am talking crap cause no evidence, but is true story la... Anyway, up to you to believe or not... Oh, and one more thing, please don't pray to the god statue inside Angkor-wat or other places one, saw from other paranormal show in Taiwan, they ever mentioned, those old statues had been abandoned long long time already, we don't know whether inside is living God or something else... I did pray to the God statue when I walked into Angkor, the local people giving joss stick for tourist, then asked for donation... I have a habit when got joss stick I just do the pray pray gesture... duhhh....

Later, we headed to Banteay Srei... Banteay Srei located a bit far off Angkor-Wat and Bayon... We were travel in tuk-tuk about 30 - 45 min to get there... Travel along the country side in a tuk-tuk was cool...










Get on tuk-tuk, now is going to Landmine Museum...








First I thought he is a Japanese because of his name Aki Ra, but then I found out he is brave local man who had helped to de-mined many many land mines in Cambodia... But until to date, there are still many land mines buried underneath Cambodia ground...

We've met some local people while having our packed lunch beside the pool (sort of like a picnic, haha)...


Now this is fascinating.... Some people go there to see the amazing nature could do on earth, some people go there cause Angelina Jolie been there too in Tomb Raider movie... haha...

After Ta Phrom, that was end of our Siem Reap trip already... Don't times just fly too fast when you are enjoying? (sounds familiar hor? Mr. Bean said one.... hahahaha~)

Evening, we went to Pub Street to have our local dinner... Cambodian food.. yummy... I missed it a lot... I tried to find whether KL have Cambodian restaurant, but couldn't find it le...

Hello, Angkor-Wat (Dec 2007) Part I

After Singapore, Siem Reap was the second country I've visited (pity me)...

I went to Siem Reap on end of Dec 2007, after I back to KL, I have no time to miss this wonderful trip... My mom was fallen sick just after she came back from Yunnan trip with my dad... That time all I can think is her, I can't concentrate to other things, that was a really shock and sad moment I've been through... We went to see doctor, and looked for medium too... That time was so desperate, and my mom somehow a bit reluctant to see doctor, she kept on saying :"I'm fine, I'm fine. I'm just tired..." I guess she is scared too... After check up with doc, we knew she was having minor stroke... Though is minor, but is still such scary memory for all of us, my mom seem like had become another person in one night... She used to be cheerful and capable, but suddenly she seem forgot how to do chores which she did everyday... Haaiii... But now she is better already, I really hope she always stay healthy...

Sorry, I don't mean to make you all sad, hehe... Let's go to see my Siem Reap trip... But please get yourself ready for a looooooooooooong post this time... Haha! I've a lot of pics to put up...

5.45am in the morning, and LCCT was already crowded with people, I was thinking the airport going to be pretty silent, guess I've forgot I'm not the only one wanna go holiday hor...
This trip was going with my friend, Janice... But now she has moved to Penang...


Siem Reap is 1 or 2 hours late than Malaysia time, I can't remember exactly what is the time different... Just after we checked out the airport, I saw me & my friend's name was written on a purple board, grabbing high up by a local young man... Ya, that was our tuk-tuk driver, Tony from The Villa Siem Reap...

I've written everything on the pics cause I'm pretty lazy to write... hahaha...

Our 1st day itinerary was started with Tonle-Sap, followed with watching sunset at Angkor Thom... But we didn't make it on the 1st day sunset view... Why? Scare of climbing high steps lo...


On the way to Tonle-Sap... The road is in a very bad condition, big holes everywhere... Guess Tony should've been used to it already, but we were like sitting on a "not so fast" roller coaster... ||| Talking about houses, the side of the roads was built with all these huts (looked so fragile)... But I saw some of the huts was actually staying by a whole family... You should had been lucky to stay under a solid place with firm roof on top of your head...

Oh, I've forgot... Before we went to Tonle-Sap, we've been to Artisan, a place which produced and sell Cambodia souvenirs... I guess if you go to Siem Reap, the driver sure will take you to this place...

You know what, the roads in Siem Reap don't have divider line, but they seem to know where is the divider line and drive along... Cool huh... And Cambodia is left hand drive... When I backed to KL, I was also confused, I tend to drive on opposite side, then my sis asked what am I doing... I asked her back we drive this side or that side? Faint~~

Haha, this is funny... We didn't make it, I was too afraid to climb the big and high steps to the top of the temple, so we gave up...

Later, back to villa again to have delicious dinner... The owner of the villa is Australian, so they do served a lot of Aussie food in their menu, of course they local food too...

Finally we are going to our destination, Angkor Wat...
I've bought a 3 days pass cost USD 40, if I'm not mistaken...
Extra info : 1 day pass - USD 20, 3 days pass - USD 40, 7 days pass - USD 100







According to our tour-guide, Sai, Angkor-Wat used to be a temple paint with colors... Can you imagine how does it looks like when it was painted, fascinating huh...








Too bad these stairs were closed for restoration that time... What a waste!!

In Siem Reap, tourism is their main income source... Their government provide training on tour guide, drivers etc... Sai told us all the stuff they learn during training was in Khmer language, and then they learn to speak foreign language themselves... You'll be surprise how well they can manage it... When they speak Cantonese, they really speak like Hongkee style Cantonese... They have many kinds of language speaking tour-guides, up for the tourist to choose... Things don't come easily over there...

We've given up on the 1st day, doesn't mean we would give up on the 2nd day... kekeke... We asked Tony to bring us to Angkor-Thom again... This time we went early, so no need to crowd with many people while hiking to the hill... You know you still have walk up a mountain road, before you really reach Angkor-Thom temple... Then you have climb the stairs of Angkor-Thom to reach up to the top, just to see the beautiful sunset... I've lived Malaysia so many years, I never go to see sunset, now I came so far away to see sunset... hahaha...


Yeah, we've made it!!
